Snell Family Farm is home to cows, pigs, chickens, and a garden. With the recent addition of a top-of-pole mount, the property is a great example of a successful DIY solar farm.
Loren Snell sought a solar racking solution that could be assembled with minimal assistance. With this being a beginner installation, the system needed to be approachable, intuitive, and light on labor demands.
On installing the single-pole mount with a 12-module solar array, Loren appreciated the single-person structural assembly while standing on the ground, which took less than a day.
Just three people were able to complete the writing–also without taking a step off the ground. A ladder was only necessary when it came time to hoist the array to its final height of 10 feet, set the final panels in place, and complete the final steps.
Through this straightforward process and impressive initiative, Snell Family Farm now has a 4.6 kW solar power system that’s helping to power a productive Idaho property.
