Single Mount, 15-Module, Fully Off-Grid Power System in Skerry, NY

An unexpectedly early move into a rural home came with a major obstacle: no power. Instead of waiting for a conventional grid hookup, a new Skerry, NY homeowner decided to adopt sustainable and self-contained power.

Off Gridder Critters LLC was there to help them put a plan into action. For over a decade, the Chateaugay, NY-based installer has provided off-grid solutions throughout the northernmost part of the state.

Owner Gregory King and his team’s experience bringing energy independence to rural properties were major assets for powering this new property.

In under 60 days, Off Gridder Critters planned and executed a fully off-grid power system. The project consisted of a single-pole MT Solar mount with a 15-module array, amounting to 5400 watts of output. The system also includes 15.2 kWh storage with a Sol-Ark 12k inverter.

Gregory described the installation as very straightforward, which suited the expedited pace of the project.
